- English Porter
When local home-brewer Øystein Grande from Davik in Nordfjord won our Brewer's Cup in August 2015, we promised to replicate his recipe. The result is Svartekari, a well-balanced English Porter with a rich hoppy presence. The name – literally Black Kari – derives from a rock in the fjord where legend has it that a witch was once burnt at the stake. Svartekari features a mix of hops comprising American Centennial and German Northern Brewer. The result is balanced tones of citrus, spices and dark berries. This beer is good with dark desserts, grilled meats or simply by itself.
